View Obituary & Service Information Ann Cassidy O'Hagan, age 90, passed away peacefully... Obituary for Ann Cassidy O'Hagan Ann Cassidy O'Hagan, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, surrounded by her husband Joe of 67 years and her ten children. She was born on January 7, 1935, in Washington, D.C. to John and Marguerite Cassidy, both of whom predeceased her. Ann and Joe’s love story began at St. Anthony's High School in Washington, DC, where Joe was captivated by her striking blue eyes and boundless kindness and patience – qualities that would define her throughout her life. They married in 1957 and moved to Riverdale, MD. They quickly outgrew the tiny house with six children and a seventh on the way. They moved to Greenbelt, MD in 1965 and added another three children to round out their perfect ten. Ann's deep faith in God was reflected in how she lived her life. Her home was more than just a residence – it was a haven where neighborhood children, friends of her children, and countless others found solace and comfort. Her door was always open, and her kitchen table always had room for one more. As the wife of a career firefighter, she became an expert in crisis management, first aid, flexibility, managing a household on little sleep, and using her skills as a short-order cook to feed large crowds. Proud of her Irish heritage, Ann celebrated her roots in everything she did. She cherished family gatherings where music was played, and stories were shared. Ann had a distinctive flair for fashion, particularly drawn to sparkly, eye-catching jewelry that matched her vibrant personality. As a talented seamstress, she crafted not just clothing but memories, pouring her love into every stitch. After all her children moved on to create families of their own, Ann and Joe moved to Fenwick Island, DE to enjoy a dream home on a canal with beautiful sunsets. Wherever Ann called home, she kept her doors open to family and friends, day or night. Her kindness, generosity, eternal optimism, and her strong faith in God never waivered. She remained a role model to others throughout her lifetime and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. Ann is survived by her husband Joe and ten children: Colleen Ponton (Matthew), Cindy Corcoran (William), Maureen Disharoon (Larry, deceased), Catherine Rich, Peggy Richardson (James), Mary Anne Reuschling (Glen), Joseph O’Hagan, Jr (Norka), Joanne Ardovini (John), Patrick O’Hagan (Lisa), and Christine O’Hagan Stevens (Brian). Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 AM on Monday, January 20, 2025, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE. Burial for the immediate family will take place on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children. All those unable to attend the Mass are invited to join the service via livestreaming by visiting the church's YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKBkUj3Am_hZiVsHWAxlgWg. Kindly visit the Tribute wall available on this website to add your message. FLORIST NOTE: PLEASE HAVE ALL FLOWERS DELIVERED ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 19, 2025 BY 12PM TO OUR LEWES LOCATION. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Ann Cassidy O'Hagan please visit our Sympathy Store. Jan 3, 2025

Honor Guard
In an effort to provide our retired brothers (at the time of their demise) with a dignified, and respectable presence, the Retired Association has decided to organize a "Honor Guard". This will not be a precision - spit and polish - drill team type concept, but simply a list of retired brother firefighters who may have known and worked with the departed, or at least served during the same time frame. Participation by this Honor Guard will be ONLY By request of the family, and only to the extent that the family desires.
To include but not limited to pallbearers, (active or honorary) - liaison between the family and visiting fire fighters, or simply lending a fire service presence.
The "uniform of the day" for this honor guard shall from this day forward be known as the "Lockrow Suit" which will consist of a navy blue blazer, white shirt, gray slacks, and black shoes (properly polished) and official Honor Guard tie issued by the Association.
For those who wish to participate, and do not own a "Lockrow Suit" we have made arrangements with "Men's Warehouse" for a very good discount on the blazer and slacks.
The more members who participate in this honor guard will provide for a large cadre to draw from meaning less travel and less frequent events.
Please give this Honor Guard serious consideration, and join us in providing our departed members with class, dignity, and proper respect.
To volunteer please contact :
